Supporting Logistics Business with Interactive WhatsApp AI Assistant

Overview

Jio-bp Freight4U is a digital freight ecosystem, simplifying the way businesses manage, coordinate, and track their logistics requirements through a seamless digital experience. To support growing business volumes across Transporters and Shippers, functionalities like truck inventories, load bidding, and live tracking became increasingly important for both. That is when Jio-bp Freight4U looked to add another medium used extensively by both daily: WhatsApp. To make this a more self-serve, always-on experience, Jio-bp Freight4U partnered with Haptik to build a WhatsApp-based logistics assistant, one that lets Transporters post truck inventories and place bids, and lets Shippers track shipments and invoices, directly inside a chat.

Challenge

As Transporter and Shipper volumes grew, the core functionalities each stakeholder relied on were ready for a faster, always-available medium alongside our mobile applications:

  • Organic reach and leads: Freight4U needed a medium to promote features, send tutorials, and reach out to prospects.

  • Truck inventories: Transporters added trucks over the phone or using the Transporter app.

  • Load bidding: Bids were placed using the application, and an always-on, in-chat option would make bidding quicker.

  • Live tracking: Both Transporters and Shippers needed a real-time view of their shipments, which required our web portals and applications.

  • Upload documents: Drivers and Transporters both needed a simple way to upload their  loading and unloading documents.

Solution

Haptik and Jio-bp Freight4U brought all of this into a single WhatsApp-native experience, one place where Transporters, Shippers, and Drivers each get what they need, with a WhatsApp Flow at the center of the bidding journey.

  • For transporters: Post truck inventories (vehicle type, route, price, and availability) and place bids in one guided flow.

  • For shippers: Track shipments and invoices in real-time.

  • For drivers: Receive trip details, stay updated on the journey, and upload both loading and unloading documents directly on WhatsApp.

  • 80% bot automation: A Smart Recovery Menu guides users back to a clear next step on any drop-off, with built-in bilingual (English/Hindi) support.
Jio-bp Freight4U bot journey

Our Transporters, Shippers, and Drivers already live on WhatsApp every day. Haptik helped us meet them there, bringing truck postings, bids, and live tracking into the same chat they already use. It's an early but clear step in the direction we want Freight4U to keep moving.

End Result

For Jio-bp Freight4U, this brings truck postings, load bidding, and live tracking into the one app Transporters, Shippers, and Drivers already use every day, with no new download, login, or interface to learn. WhatsApp isn't the whole picture yet, but as the model scales it points to a clear direction for the vertical: digital logistics platforms don't need users to adopt a new tool, they need to show up inside the one their users never leave.
